Tutorial 5: Better Reflections

posted by brokenarts, Jan 4, 2006 10:48 AM — 53 comments

When photographing highly reflective objects (like metal of glass) it's important not to reflect yourself on the object surface.

How to hide you and the camera?

Take a white sheet of paper and make an hole on it. Place the sheet in front of the camera (look at the picture below).

With sheets of different colours you can also make creative reflections.

For the pupil part where you say "Draw circle and feather 1 px," the tutorial is not clear.

Do not use the Shape tool. Instead, use the Elliptical Marquee tool and draw a circle. Then in the upper menu, go to Select > Modify > Feather. Choose 1px.

Then you can use the Paint Bucket tool to fill with black.
