Site rules talk about notification AFTER a photo has been used, and NOT before. If contol is what you really want, you should change restrictions to require written permission before a photo can be downloaded.

i do agree with that, but i will respect whatever is written by the author as well. And just as a common curtosey, if i use ANY image from someone, i will email them and ask, wether it was specified or not.

I use a number of pictures off this site each month but stay away from people who place restrictions because the situation usually calls for me to do an "emergency" search for a suitable pic. If I still have to get permission it is a waste of time.

I take the details of each pic I use and always notify the owner whether they request it or not, and send a PDF file of the publication in which their picture appears.
