Really nice Ali, I love that lightbox..
Nice banner too.. the only thing I would get rid of is the google ads, it just seems weird for a portfolio site, and I'd love to see the full glory of the web page design without them..
Im such a fan of your photos, you do amazing beach/landscape shots.. excellent stuff!!

For the pupil part where you say "Draw circle and feather 1 px," the tutorial is not clear.
Do not use the Shape tool. Instead, use the Elliptical Marquee tool and draw a circle. Then in the upper menu, go to Select > Modify > Feather. Choose 1px.
Then you can use the Paint Bucket tool to fill with black.
