Photoshop Competition!

If you are up to the challenge, download the full resolution file here.
Make your adjustments, and then email it to me at leoele(at)msn.com along with your name, and/or SXC user name, and a brief outline of what you did. Submissions are due by this Saturday, the 9th (or as long as I have the submission in my inbox by sunday morning my time, you do the math...)
From there, I'll post all of the pictures here in my blog for all to see, as well as select a winner. I already have a list of criteria I'll be checking for, which I will post after I select the winner.

I've already done my own rendition of the photo. I just wanted to see what other people could come up with. It's more of a guise to learn the secrets of the trade...

For the pupil part where you say "Draw circle and feather 1 px," the tutorial is not clear.
Do not use the Shape tool. Instead, use the Elliptical Marquee tool and draw a circle. Then in the upper menu, go to Select > Modify > Feather. Choose 1px.
Then you can use the Paint Bucket tool to fill with black.
