The Finished Product, Part I

posted by bjearwicke, Nov 18, 2006 12:36 AM — 8 comments

I am posting samples of published work that includes one or more of my photos. Keep in mind that the following documents are reproductions of other user's work with my photos, so they may be copyrighted and may not be reproduced in any way, shape, or form.

Global Study Magazine has featured two articles I wrote about my experiences abroad. Using my SXC photos to illustrate my writing, the London-based student travel magazine produced attractive layouts for two recent editions of the print and online mag. Links to original photos are provided below this and all of the following documents. To read this article, see The Big O.E.

This is a photo I took in the village of Cacha, Ecuador, on the outskirts of Riobamba. I spoke with this man and his wife and asked if they would allow me to take photos of them and their work. They graciously agreed, and then took me behind their home, where they showed me how they harvest beans and corn. User ashnicole created this beautiful and captivating image with my photo Drying Corn in Cacha.

The following three images use my photo Groom Carrying Bride. Each of these finished products is very different, but I like the effect achieved by each of the users.

For the pupil part where you say "Draw circle and feather 1 px," the tutorial is not clear.

Do not use the Shape tool. Instead, use the Elliptical Marquee tool and draw a circle. Then in the upper menu, go to Select > Modify > Feather. Choose 1px.

Then you can use the Paint Bucket tool to fill with black.
