Time for Another Cup of Coffee

I've been busy all day editing photos, and let's just say another cup of coffee is in order. What have I been doing? Sorting through a photo shoot I did of a coffee shot, ironically. From patrons to coffee beans to espresso drinks to lattes, I photographed it all and I'm exhausted. Now the shop owner wants me to help her maintain her coffee blog. There may not be time for a freelancer to sleep, but at least there's always another shot of espresso around the corner.

Is SXC Blocked at Work?

Lately I've been having problems with my employer blocking SXC. Apparently I spend too much time here commenting on photos and posting in the forums. Fortunately, I found an easy way around the problem. I read this guide on how to use a VPN. It's a useful tool for circumnavigating web filters and keeping your web surfing anonymous. I also suggest using an MPLS if you don't have access to a VPN server.

Doing My Taxes and too much Wine

Daniel Foster has a big photo trip planned for February, so I'm getting started on my taxes now. Let's just say even with the latest version of TurboTax it's a huge hassle.

I'm also annoyed with my wife because she is spending too much money on wine, which I can't even deduct on my taxes or drink while I do my taxes. She bought a number of fine wines at a local charity auction, but I wasn't upset until I saw how much the wine holders she bought were. $100 for a set of 5! Who knew such a useless accessory could cost so much!
